CranioSacral Therapy
Support Your Central Nervous System
Kara Streit, CST is trained in Upledger CST, a cranial approach developed by osteopathic physician Dr. John E. Upledger. Upledger CST works with the body’s subtle rhythms to release stored tension, reduce pain, and enhance overall well-being. Rooted in the understanding that the body has an innate ability to heal itself—often called the inner physician, CST supports this natural capacity for healing, especially when stress, trauma, or illness become overwhelming to the system.
CST works with the central nervous system and the craniosacral system to help your body relax and self-correct imbalances. The central nervous system has a tremendous influence on health and well-being, and the craniosacral system has a big effect on the central nervous system, resulting in deep changes and healing potential.
The craniosacral system includes the membranes and fluid (cerebrospinal fluid) that protect the brain and spinal cord. Using a light touch—about the weight of a nickel—your therapist helps release restrictions in the soft tissues surrounding your central nervous system and craniosacral system. Working with these subtle systems through CST can release the stress, strain, and tension that build up in the body over time. CST allows the body to relax and self-correct, encouraging homeostasis—the body’s natural state of balance.

What to Expect in a Session
CranioSacral sessions are performed with the client fully clothed on a massage table.
Your therapist begins by gently placing their hands on different areas of the head, torso, or sacrum to monitor the flow and rhythm of the cerebrospinal fluid—identifying areas where the flow of cerebrospinal fluid feels diminished or uneven. Delicate manual techniques are then incorporated to release blockages in the areas with less than optimal flow, thereby improving the function of the central nervous system.
Sessions are tailored to the unique needs of the individual’s system, and the experience one might have during the session is also very individual, and there is no certain way one should expect to feel. Sessions are generally very relaxing and create sensations of warmth or gentle flow, or light pulsing in the area in which the therapist is working. The result at the end of a session is typically an experience of deep calm, relaxation, and inner stillness.
You can schedule a full session—or add 15 Minutes of CranioSacral Therapy into a regular massage if you’d like to experience it before committing to a full treatment. Many clients find it blends beautifully with integrative bodywork to enhance relaxation and recovery.

Why Our Rates Include a 'Tip' Amount
We compensate all our practitioners at or above industry standards for their specialty, ensuring they receive a living wage. Since gratuity is a standard part of massage therapist pay—typically 40–50% of their take-home income—our massage and bodywork rates include an 18% tip built into therapist compensation.
This approach allows our practitioners to focus fully on your care, without depending on tips—and we believe that's better for everyone.
Because gratuity is already included, you're never expected or required to tip at checkout. However, if you'd like to leave an additional amount, it will be received as a sincere and appreciated “thank you” for the care you received.
